Our Members

Members are at the centre of the BSAC. These organisations or federations of organisations come from the 8 different Member States around the Baltic Sea. The BSAC currently counts 38 members. Their expertise allows policy makers to get a specialised advice to adapt the regulations to the particularities of the Baltic.

The only criteria for membership are to hold a stake in the Baltic Sea fisheries resources and share the aim of the BSAC. New members can apply directly by sending a message to the BSAC secretariat.  Following payment of the annual fee, they get the right to attend the meeting and be reimbursed for the travel expenses.

Benefits for members include access to a realm of information on the Baltic Sea, its ecosystem and fisheries through the BSAC newsletter  and reports from many meetings. But most importantly, they can take part in the discussions, voice concerns to decision makers, and participate in the regional network that the BSAC represents.

General Assembly 2024 – 2025

The organisation follows a standard setting with the entire membership forming a General Assembly. Members can put forward topics and discuss proposals from policy makers. Occasionally, members meet in smaller groups to unravel early work and create drafts.
