The goal of the workshop was to provide a comprehensive overview of the scientific, policy, and management landscape regarding cormorants and seals in the North and Baltic Sea Basins while fostering discussions on potential paths forward. 16 speakers contributed valuable insights spanning both sea basins and this allowed to set the scene for informed discussions. As previously noted, this workshop was not intended to reach a consensus but rather to enhance knowledge on the current state of play as well as exchange views. In the coming weeks, NSAC and BSAC will work together to develop advice on potential management measures for cormorants and seals, seeking consensus where possible.Presentations are uploaded in the NSAC website.
